“I think the biggest success for me was the reminder that balance in life equates to a better me! Taking time to get healthy makes me feel better in every direction.”
One of the lessons my Dad taught me growing up was “take care of your stuff and it will take care of you.” His lesson was really about tools but it can easily be extended to other aspects of life. About a year ago I committed to getting in better shape and after a GroupOn email for Fitmania, I was underway.
I think the biggest success for me was the reminder that balance in life equates to a better me! Taking time to get healthy makes me feel better in every direction.
The other lesson I learned – “If it does not have a mother or come from the ground” don’t eat it. This is easier to apply when you work hard to get in better shape. Who would want to knowingly eat unhealthy with all the time and energy I have put into getting into better shape. Plus, all the working out actually makes it easier to make better eating decisions.
While my goal was not necessarily weight loss, I was pretty sure that would be a natural consequence with all the movement and soaking a shirt with sweat every time.
